About the Foundation
Kharkiv Karazin University Foundation was established as a charitable entity to support the University and its employees in times of war and after-war hardships.
Kharkiv University has already made and maintains a tremendous contribution to national and international science, as well as into the development of culture, sports, and education. Even in the wartime, the University keeps on functioning and providing professional training of future experts together with their social and patriotic upbringing. Obviously, the war sets major limitations and poses serious threats that substantially impact the University’s activities.
This project was launched to support the Karazin University and foster its after-war reconstruction. We believe that together we will be able to deliver this mission, to preserve and proliferate academic culture of Kharkiv region and whole Ukraine.
To facilitate the protection of scientific, educational and spiritual achievements of Karazin University, to preserve Ukraine’s intellectual potential and to bring its victory over the Russian aggressor closer.
Damages to the Karazin University
In the line of attacks and gunfire since the first day of the war
The building of Education and Research Institute “School of Physics and Technology” (31, Kurchatova Avenue) was damaged
The windows in the central and northern buildings in Svobody Square (4, Svobody Square, 6, Svobody Square) were shattered
The windows in Hostel #10 (12, Otakara Yarosha Street) were shattered
The building of the School of Economics and Education and Research Institute “Karazin Business School” (1, Myronosytska Street) was destroyed
The windows in the old building of the Central Scientific Library (23, Universytetska Street) were shattered
The windows in the Museum of nature
(8, Trynklera Street) were shattered
Sports Complex “Karazinskyi” (14, Otakara Yarosha Street) was destroyed
The windows in Hostel #4 (13, Otakara Yarosha Street) were shattered
The building of Education and Research Institute “School of Physics and Technology” (31, Kurchatova Avenue) was ruined
The building of Education and Research Institute “Institute of Public Administration” (75, Heroiv Kharkova Avenue) was ruined
Today it is a University corporation consisting of 29 thousand students and employees.

Training in Karazin University is provided by 133 Departments at 23 Schools and Education and Research Institutes.
14 Schools of the University are among the top Ukrainian schools according to the “Forbes Ukraine”.
According to QS World University Rankings 2023, Karazin University holds its number one spot among the Ukrainian universities and listed on the 541–550 position globally.
Board of Trustees
Board of Trustees is the Foundation’s advisory, consultative, and representative body, whose work is to oversee the Foundation’s activities and raise its efficiency.
Board of Trustees consists of renowned representatives of science, education, culture, public figures from Ukraine, the USA, Italy, France, and Poland, who support Karazin University and are concerned for its future, restoration, and further development.
