Establishment of a Safe Space “Karazin Coworking Hub”

Description of the project

The "Karazin Coworking Hub" project aims to create a safe educational space in the shelters of Karazin University, where students and faculty can continue learning and teaching even under highly risky conditions. Kharkiv, a large city in eastern Ukraine, has suffered severe damage from shelling and missile attacks, leading to significant destruction of infrastructure, including that of the university. This has created a high level of danger for participants in the educational process, making uninterrupted learning extremely challenging. The situation has a profound impact on the psychological well-being of students and faculty, especially those who have lost their homes or relocated to Kharkiv from affected regions. The project envisions establishing a secure learning environment that will ensure the continuity of education, reduce stress and anxiety levels, and help maintain the quality of education and focus on academic development. In doing so, this project contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 – "Quality Education" by ensuring access to education even in crisis conditions, creating a safe environment for students and faculty, and supporting educational opportunities for everyone studying and working at the university.
